The History of Pole Dance Tutorials
In 1998, the instructional video Pole Work by Fawnia Mondey was produced. The Internet was still a baby and there were more housewives and every day women (non-strippers) cruising the Internet, then exotic dancers. College girls, moms, grandmothers, business women, and a few men, wanted to learn how to pole dance, but they didn’t have easy access to a stripper pole. Unless they went to a metal store to buy one, which is what Fawnia did in 1995.
All this changed in 2002 when Lil Mynx hit the scene. The Lil Mynx dance pole allowed women (and men) to bring the fantasy home. The Pole Work instructional DVD and Lil Mynx poles were hot sellers as they were the first of their kind. Since then there have been hundreds of thousands of instructional videos posted on Youtube and with the ongoing explosion of social media, one doesn’t need a VHS or DVD player to learn the latest pole tricks.
Students from all walks of life learn on Pole Danzer, Lupit Pole, and Lil Mynx poles.
30 years later, Fawnia and Lil Mynx are still relevant in the fabulous world of Pole Dancing. Fawnia owns Pole Fitness Studio in Las Vegas. Within their five dance spaces, there’s a total of 36 poles.
Not all poles are created equal. At Pole Fitness Studio students get in shape on poles ranging in diameters 38MM 45MM and 50 MM. Their poles are made from stainless steel, brass, and if you want to sport a “she’s my cherry pie” look in your latest story, you can practice on their red powder coated Lil Mynx pole.
